As the season shifts and Spring ushers in renewal, so does Shaun Rose, an artist whose fire refuses to be contained. Bajan bred, New York raised, and Atlanta braised, Shaun embodies reinvention, moving with the kind of purpose that makes every step feel intentional. Read more about our Next Wave artist who’s a multi-faceted creator on the move.

Shaun’s artistry is a vibrant blend of upbeat R&B and Soul infused with the feel-good warmth of West Indian rhythms. With music that moves both heart and body, she’s crafting a space where listeners feel seen, heard, and inspired.

“I’m building a community of dreamers and doers, people who love a good beat, and even more, something to move their bodies to,” she shares.

For Shaun, music has always been personal. Her first project, Petals to the Rose: An Audio Diary, was a love letter to her journey. It wasn’t long before Atlanta radio legend Greg Street took notice, spinning her tracks “Luv Me” and “Daylight” on heritage radio station V-103. That moment was only the beginning. She’s since performed for Fader Magazine, sung background for Dej Loaf, and landed a feature on the 2023 Nappy Roots album Nappy4Life. Beyond the accolades, Shaun’s evolution has been about embracing her multidimensional creativity.

“I had to make releasing music feel authentic and exciting again for me,” Rose says. “If I feel it, I know it’ll resonate with someone else.”

Shaun’s latest single, “Go There,” marks a full-circle moment for her. The Reggae and Afrobeat fusion track connects directly to her Caribbean roots.

“It’s been dope to hear people say, ‘Don’t forget about me next time you go there,’” she laughs, noting how the song has become more than music but it’s become a bridge to culture, community and shared experiences.

Shaun isn’t just shaping her career; she’s shaping the landscape for other artists too. Her creative direction company, GRDN FLWR LLC, is an extension of her mission to build, uplift, and bring visions to life. Having worked behind the scenes as a script reader for BET, Netflix, and Nickelodeon, and as a music video creative director, she understands the power of storytelling in all forms.

“There was a time when I didn’t recognize my own power,” she revealed. “I’d sometimes feel like I needed to tone things down, afraid of being ‘too much.’ But I’ve come to realize that fire can be quiet, but it can’t be hidden.”

Her career continues to expand in unexpected ways. Leaping into acting, she landed a recurring role on Tyler Perry’s “Zatima,” set to air this year. This role is a testament to the divine timing of her path.

“Booking this role was the result of an angry prayer two years ago,” she reflects. “I wasn’t financially stable, and I was asking God to recognize my talents. When they say He’s right on time… He never misses.”

Spring is a season of new beginnings, and Shaun Rose is stepping into hers fully. With her voice, her vision, and her unshakable spirit, she’s proving that when you bloom in your season, the world has no choice but to stop and take notice.
